The use of wireless communication
(i.e. Internet, cellular phones) for both personal and
business use has increased dramatically in recent years. As such, there is a growing demand for infrastructure such as cellular phone satellite towers and high-speed voice and data communications networks (broadband internet service).
Cellular phone service is available in most parts of the region especially along major travel corridors. Secondary roads are being filled in with the deployment of additional cell towers.
The availability of broadband internet service for both residential and business use has become increasingly important. Stratham currently enjoys the availability of broadband cable through AT&T. Services such as Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), T1 and Fractional T1 have been widely available for several years. Newer technological advances such as the various types of Digital Subscriber Line (xDSL) and Cable Modem service have increased the availability of high-speed internet access to both commercial and residentiat applications at lower cost than previously seen.
As the intensity of internet use increases, technology improves, and infrastructure hurdles are overcome, high-speed access will be expanded to more areas to meet that demand for broadband service.
